From Guthrie, Kentucky, follow U.S. 41 south back into Montgomery County, Tennessee.  You will soon cross the border into Roberton County where you'll pass through Adams and Springfield. Then follow TN 49 from Springfield east to Orlinda.  TN 52 begins in downtown Orlinda [at the red push-pin above] and heads east where it crosses I-65.  A mile later TN 52 enters Sumner County. If you prefer a more direct route, you may take TN 49 (exit 24 from I-24) directly into Springfield.

The Last days of Frank and Jesse James
Filming Location

Orlinda, Tennessee
Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and June Carter Cash starred in this 1986 made-for-TV movie.  The town scenes in the movie were filmed in downtown Orlinda.  Truckloads of dirt were brought in and spread out over the paved street to make it look like an old west dirt street.  Other country scenes were filmed in Robertson County.  See the Internet Movie Database for more information on the movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091382  Interestingly, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash lived near Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, which is right next door in Sumner County.  Of course, Johnny and June have since died.

Orlinda, Tennessee
Orlinda is the western end of TN 52.  From Orlinda, one would continue on TN 49 to Springfield.  Besides being noted as a filming location for The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James, Orlinda is known for the Orlinda Milling Company which still grinds its own brand of flour which you can purchase in many local supermarkets.  During the week, you can sometimes get a tour of the plant.
