Union Camp Scenic Waterfall

This waterfall is located behind the Union Missionary Baptist Church outside of Lafayette.

This is a peaceful area in the trees where you can listen to the sounds of the falling water.  The amount of water going over the falls will vary greatly depending on how much rain has occurred recently.

During times when there hasn't been a lot of rain, there is a small, rocky "beach" where you might have a picnic, but you'll need chairs or cushions to be comfortable.  (You can see part of the beach in the lower right corner of the picture directly above.)

Important!  You may want to leave your vehicle parked near the church and walk the short distance to the falls.   There is a gravel road which leads from the church past the falls.  The problem is that 1) the road actually crosses the creek, 2) there is a very steep part of the road just before you cross the creek, and 3) there is no place to turn around until well after you cross the creek.

If there has been a lot of rain, you may not be able to cross the creek and you may not be able to back out!

The falls are behind you on your right.  Ahead is the creek crossing.  There is no place to turn around until after you cross the creek.

Directions from Lafayette

1.  Take TN 52 east towards Red Boiling Springs.

2.  Just past mile marker 16, turn right on TN 262 (Browns Road).

3.  Browns Road dead ends in about 0.6 miles.  Turn left on Union Camp Road (which is also TN 262.)

4.  Go about 3 miles.  You will see Union Camp Missionary Baptist Church on your left.

5.  The waterfall is about 0.2 miles behind the church down the gravel road.
